Aster was a hobo who lived in the bushes near Franny's Cottage.
Description[]
He is described as a disheveled man wearing layers of dark, filth-stained clothing. He wore fingerless gloves of gray yarn and a shapeless black hat.
Aster believed he was stealing baked goods from Franny, but in reality she was fully aware of what he was doing and let him take them off her windowsill. He defended Franny from robbers on a few occasions.
A World Without Heroes[]
Jason meets Aster while looking for Galloran. They have conversation, and Jason turns him in, not knowing that Franny is fully aware. Later, when Franny was attacked by Maldor's forces as a consequence of talking to Jason, Aster tried to defend her and was supposedly torn apart by a mangler, as the only part of him found was his severed hand. Galloran hints that he knows Aster.
