Conscriptors are Maldor's commandos, his elite troops. They were trained to recruit armies from conquered towns or kingdoms, and could transform animals' mentality to their cause by using toxins and the like.
Puggles, Franny's boarhound, was recruited by a consciptor and sent after Jason and Rachel.
The Wanderer posed as the conscriptor Groddic during his alliance with Maldor. It was he who hurled powdered acid into Galloran's eyes when Galloran was captured, successfully crushing the small insurgency force that had risen under Galloran's command.
